The Sirvanian Civil War was a conflict that occurred during the Great Berry Plague. The war was between the national forces of Sirvania and the native Werta and Balis tribes. The conflict is believed to have begun due to two factors: firstly, the amount of power that the Sirvanian government had over tribal affairs, and secondly, dissatisfaction with government handling of the Great Berry plague, which lead to the deaths of many members of both tribes.
Following a brief but intense period of fighting, the devastated Balis tribe merged with Werta. Due to the threat of protracted military actions against the government, and heavy casualties on both sides of the conflict, Werta was given the right to claim their traditional tribal lands (roughly half of Sirvania) and declare independence from Sirvania.
